Ep: 174 - Banana Phobia (Stalker Preview Episode) - The Psychology of Phobias

👇Listen To The Preview Below👇

IMG_0746.jpeg

In this Episode: We answer a letter from "Banana Phobia", a person who is phobic about bananas. Did you know that 50% of humans have a lifelong, irrational fear of an object or situation? For around 7% of us, that fear rises to the level of clinical phobia.

The Stalker Letter That Started It All

Dear UPC podcast. If you use my letter, please keep my name anonymous, because I’m deeply ashamed of what I’m about to say.
I have what would probably be considered a phobia about bananas. I don’t know when this started, just that I’ve had it for as long as I can remember.
If I see a banana I feel a tremendous sense of anxiety and need to get away from it immediately. There have been times when I have smelled a banana in a restraint or something and I become physically sick to my stomach.
I’m hoping you can provide insight into why I feel this way. I feel deeply embarrassed about this, because rationally, I understand how crazy or silly it sounds. But it feels like a sense of dread that I always have to walk around with.
Any info would help. Love you, love your podcast and never miss an episode. Thanks in advance!

P.S.- I’m a recent stalker of the podcast, and my experience so far has been great. ! I have to say, the stalker-only shows are even better than the free feed ones, so thank you for all of the tremendous bonus content that you offer. It was totally worth it to sign up.”

Michael Drane and Andrew Baker discus the Netflix documentary Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez. In this documentary they discuss Aaron Hernandez as a rising star in the NFL. He seemed to have everything, but Hernandez was living a double life... football star by day, impulsive murderer by night.

Aaron Hernandez’s fiancé speaks out

What Is The Netflix documentary about Aaron Hernandez?

A much-anticipated docuseries on Aaron Hernandez hit Netflix on Wednesday, and over three episodes it traces his shocking and seemingly incomprehensible downfall. Between the ages of 16 and 27, the Connecticut native went from being a fun-loving high school star to a well-paid tight end for the Super Bowl-minded Patriots, only to end up committing suicide in prison after being convicted of one Boston-area murder and being heavily implicated in two others.
